The United Market – (Co-op)

The United Market is a unique one stop market, dedicated to our community.  We offer organic and mostly local produce, dairy, and meats to our customers.  The services that we offer to offer convenience to our customers are as follows:

  • Grocery Delivery service to the local elderly, handicapped, or sick. (within 20 miles)
  • Grocery call-in and pick up with a credit/debit card purchase of 20.00 or more.
  • Vendor space rentals (kiosk’s/ tables provided)
  • Bartering services on select items.
  • Restaurant

The United Market stands out from the rest, because of our love for the community and the services we provide.

These figures here are ball park figures. I priced things on the high range just to be safe, but I can cut corners on some things, the more I research. Remodeling for the restaurant will not be 200k because it will be small and we will use the same freezer space, the eating section will be only 4-6 tables. So I don’t think it will be anywhere near 200k.  I am basically just installing a functioning home style kitchen.

Start up cost will be will be expensive , because I’m moving into a store with nothing installed and I will have to do a lot of remodeling and installing. I have to buy at least 75,000 worth food just to open the door. This number may be lower, because I will not have all the different departments that the other supermarkets have and my health, beauty, and other merchandise will mostly come from local business owners of the community.

The total financial goal is $150 thousand, we decided to split the campaign to 6 parts to give enough time to reach our goals and objectives.

50k Phase 5/6. Is reserved for working capital, money to keep the store going until we make profit in the next 2-3 yrs, estimating.
