Having successfully launched Buy Black Economics (the World’s Largest Digital Info Product Store dedicated to Black Businesses) as well as numerous other ventures, Lynn Da is excited to announce the creation of Buy The Block, an initiative that will allow individuals and groups to pool funds, share knowledge, and vote on properties in which to invest!

As the name suggests, Buy The Block is a web-based platform that is geared towards making investing in real estate easier. It presents an opportunity to invest with other connected investors and provides the added benefit of giving each investor individual ownership in the block.

Buy The Block is currently crowdfunding to take its operations to the next phase, through the development and deployment of a website, mobile app and buying the first block. To join the movement, click here:

With a good number of black Americans lacking access to viable real estate investment opportunities, Lynn views Buy The Block as the most logical step towards becoming better real estate investors/owners. Once adequately capitalized, the website and mobile app will empower users to start investing, having fun, and building wealth; as a vibrant and interconnected community.

“Buy The Block has been created to help my people invest. Our vision is to change investing from confusing and frustrating, to an accessible and enjoyable social experience,” said Lynn, concept developer for Buy The Block. “We want to create a new generation of connected investors who feel informed, empowered, and confident. The launch of our website and mobile app will certainly take group investing to a whole new level,” Lynn added.

Since 2010, Lynn has created an array of notable projects such as (a black business crowdfunding site), (a black business jobs initiative), and Buy Black Economics Investment Group.

Buy The Block is the most recent social marketing concept from of the Cincinnati-based female entrepreneur. With less than a month left to raise $60,000 to $100,000 for the website and mobile app development–Lynn is confident that the community will unite to fully support this effort!

“Ultimately, by making a contribution to this campaign, you are helping Buy The Block reach the goal of creating a platform for our community to acquire and develop real estate” Lynn Da concluded.

I am very excited to read this post and learn about this platform. Last year we launched Ujima Community Transformation Partners and we are implementing a similar strategy in Baltimore. Like our name suggest, collective work and responsibility, we would really looking to connect with others interested in finding an alternative to gentrification where Black communities can revitalize on their own terms by controlling the land. I would really like to connect to share strategies and opportunities.

I would like to have some investors in buying my parents property. Tearing the house down and re-building.
I am interested in black business. A construction loan with small interest rate. The house can be used as a rental for students or any other need that our people can benefit from. My main purpose is so the city will not steal the land. I am very much interested in flipping homes. Setting up business for our people. I too would like to see our people proper.

I love it. In order for us to compete we must own and control. In order for us to mover forward we must do it collectively as a group. Awesome vision, keep pushing it will work!

  21. I have Pinterest boards dedicated to this. I’ve been following real estate on zillow and other marketing apps. And I have interrior remodel blueprints for this as well. If you need any help or if you’re hiring? I also have plans for backyard gardens to be self sustainable.

How can I be a part of this movement

  25. I love this!

  26. is this a nationwide movement ? I am in Washington DC with investment properties here as well as in Baltimore, just trying to get as much information as possible in order to see if this is something for me

  27. Community ownership concepts have been lost to our people for generations. Asian Americans have used similar concepts successfully for years, creating their own ‘city-within-a-city’ (ie Chinatown, Koreatown, etc.). Much like our grands and great-grands did.

The TRUTH is our people perish for lack of knowledge. I am not immune. I needed help and assistance and “knowledge” on several occasions over the years, only to be turned away or thrown into a mix-bag of competitive individuals who had access to resources and capital (and whose skin tone opened doors) that I did not.

I wish i had discovered Buy The Block years ago. Had I, my siblings and myself would be much further down the road. I am pleased with the possibilities and prospects that lay ahead because of the potential ‘knowledge’ to be gained.
Consider me now in the Buy The Block loop.
